A flight later today? A cruise ending too early? A wedding, conference or event leaving you with a few unexpected hours?
Good. That’s enough time to do something with Budapest.
WAIT. I ACTUALLY HAVE TIME TO SEE BUDAPEST.
Maybe you’re still planning your trip and just realised there’s a strange little gap in your schedule.
Or maybe you’re already in Budapest and suddenly thinking: wait a minute. I’m actually here. And I don’t want to leave without seeing the city.
You have a few hours. Budapest has a lot to show you. And now you have absolutely no idea what realistically fits into the time you have.
GOOD. THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT THIS IS FOR.
MY FLIGHT IS LATER. MUCH LATER.
You have five, six or maybe eight hours between flights. Enough time to get bored at the airport, but also enough time to actually see Budapest.
I’ll pick you up at the airport, your luggage stays safely with me, and we’ll use the time you have for a private Budapest tour. Then I’ll take you straight back to the airport in time for your next flight.
NO FIGURING OUT PUBLIC TRANSPORT.
NO DRAGGING LUGGAGE AROUND.
NO STARING AT THE DEPARTURE BOARD FOR SIX HOURS.
MY SHIP AND MY FLIGHT HAVE VERY DIFFERENT IDEAS ABOUT TIME.
River cruises have their own timetable, and unfortunately it doesn’t always match yours. You may have to leave your ship in Budapest in the morning while your flight isn’t until late afternoon, or you may arrive at the airport hours before you can actually check in for your cruise.
If you’re disembarking, I can pick you up directly from the ship, keep your luggage safely in the car, while we spend those otherwise awkward hours doing whatever you would actually like to do in Budapest, and then take you straight to the airport when it’s time to leave.
If you’re embarking later that day, we can do it the other way around. I can pick you up at the airport or your hotel, take you to the ship first for the available luggage drop-off, and once your bags are taken care of, we can head back into Budapest without dragging suitcases around until it’s time for you to board.
And this doesn’t have to mean a standard sightseeing tour. We can see the Budapest highlights, have lunch, find somewhere you wanted to visit, meet a friend, hunt down something very specific, or simply build those few hours around whatever brought you to me in the first place.
SITTING BESIDE THE DANUBE FOR FIVE HOURS WITH YOUR SUITCASES IS ALSO AN OPTION.
I JUST DON’T THINK IT’S THE BEST ONE.
THE WEDDING ISN’T IN BUDAPEST. MY FLIGHT IS.
A lot of weddings and private events take place outside Budapest, somewhere in the Hungarian countryside, while international guests naturally arrive at Budapest Airport. And sometimes your morning flight lands hours before anything is actually happening at the venue.
That awkward gap between the airport and the wedding doesn’t have to be dead time. I can pick you up when you land, keep your luggage in the car, spend those few hours with you in Budapest and then take you directly to the countryside venue when it’s time to go.
If this is your first time in Budapest, we can do a compact private tour around the main highlights. The Citadella gives us the whole city in one panorama, and with more time we can add the Castle District with Matthias Church and Fisherman’s Bastion, then Heroes’ Square and City Park, with Vajdahunyad Castle, the Museum of Ethnography, the House of Music and Széchenyi Thermal Bath all in the same area.
OR WE CAN FORGET ABOUT TRYING TO TICK OFF BUDAPEST AND DO SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.
If you arrived on an early flight and haven’t even had lunch yet, I can stay with you and we can eat together. If it’s your first visit, that might mean proper Hungarian food or a local food market rather than the Great Market Hall.
If you’ve already been to Budapest three times and really don’t need another photograph of Széchenyi Bath, I can take you out to the part of the city with a large Chinese community, excellent Asian restaurants and wonderfully un-touristy Asian food courts.
And if the timing is right, we can stop at the Gozsdu artisan market and you can even pick up a handmade gift before the wedding.
THE POINT ISN’T TO SQUEEZE A STANDARD TOUR INTO AN INCONVENIENT GAP.
Tell me how many hours you have between landing and the event, and I’ll build something that actually fits.
GOOD.
Tell me what your situation is.
If I can make it work, I will.
YOUR SITUATION DOESN’T
FIT THE BOXES?
Tell me what time you have, where I should pick you up and where you need to end up.
I’LL TELL YOU WHAT REALISTICALLY FITS.
